Ingredients 

Stew Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Chuck cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 Carrots sliced
  • 3 Potatoes diced
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper to taste

Dumpling Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add beef and cook until browned.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add beef broth, carrots, and potatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  5. For dumplings, mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling batter onto the simmering stew. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
