- 4 cups bread, cubed day-old or stale
- 2 cups milk
- 3 units eggs beaten
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
- 0.5 cup raisins optional
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until well blended.
Place the cubed bread in a baking dish. Pour the milk mixture over the bread, making sure all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle raisins over the top, if using.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
