Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine milk and cream. Heat until just simmering.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar and egg yolks until pale and thick.
  3. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Cool completely.
  6. Churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions.
