Main Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine
- 1 orange, sliced
- 8 cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 0.25 cup brandy (optional)
Pour the wine into a pot.
Add the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and sugar.
Heat the mixture over medium heat until it just barely reaches a simmer.
Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the brandy if using.
Strain and serve warm.
