Ingredients

  • 3 units Eggs separated
  • ½ cup Sugar divided
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour sifted
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat egg yolks and ¼ cup of sugar until thick and pale. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. In another bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites. Sift flour and salt over the mixture and fold gently until combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe 3-inch long strips onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. Dust the piped batter with powdered sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the ladyfingers are lightly golden and firm to the touch.
  7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
